Profiting From Google New Search Results Page Layout
Earlier this afternoon as i was searching around on google, i found that there were many changes made to the google search results page. If you head over to googles search pages you will find that the new layout brings a more cleaner look as the side bar tools have been shifted to the top.
This might not seem significant enough in terms of driving traffic from googles search engine but there are a few ways that you can benefit and profit from googles new Serp layout

After analysing the new layout, a couple of things came to mind in terms of using Google new Search Engine Results Page’s new clean layout to soak up more traffic.
- Google Plus – Intergrate google plus with your site. If you are a wordpress.org blogger then link up your site using the google authorship plugin and for your profile image use a background that really stands out.(check out the stunning red background in mine above)
- Google local and Maps – Previously this was called google places but now you can intergrate your google plus profile with google local and get your brand listed. Also be sure to tag your place of business to get listed. This works for brands and businesses that have a good demand online.
- Optimize Your Images – Images stand out and often is listed on google above the fold. Make sure your keywords are in the original image file before uploading to your blog and etc, then insert your images in the alt text area as well as the caption area
- Videos – I have noticed that google has taken down the links of a couple of videos of mine which are hosted on my own server. Prior to this when you host your videos on sites like ez3 and amazon and then you host the image on your own site, it appears as a video that is listed organically. Moving your videos over to youtube and optimizing it will get you additional traffic. Back link it with Magical Submitter and you will get up there ranking on the first page in no time.
- Adwords – I have noticed that ads on exact brand names are not populating as much if any versus normal search terms. for instance Air Asia versus Air Asia Malaysia. If you are targeting competitor brands, be sure to cover all bases because you will not be able to rank on the brands exact search term as well as you used to
- Adwords 2 – With the intergration of the preview option and the google plus listings on google, ads on the right hand side will not get as much traffic as it used to. Its time to test out different placements if you are on a shoe string budget and cannot afford to get up to 1st place.
- News Feed & Updates – News feeds are one of the fastest ways to get on the organic search engine results page. Submitting your content to pr site will give you a big boost in traffic now that the google layout has been cleaned up. Google has also been giving precedence to Google plus updates and twitter updates. Be sure to insert the full links and not a shortener. Ping the updates, share it on various social networks and watch it rank.
